CORE VALUES STATEMENT:

1) The Lordship of Christ

This is the summation of all other values, and is the cornerstone of our fellowship. We desire to embrace a culture that acknowledges His Lordship at personal, corporate and strategic levels. This includes the essential place of the Scriptures in the lives of believers and in the leadership of the church, and the role of obedience both to the Word of God and the leadership of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 6:33; I Samuel 15:22

2) The Glory of God

One of the Bible definitions of glory is the weight, splendor of God’s presence. We believe that only a manifestation of God’s glory will align the Church to His Kingdom. We value every expression of worship, prayer, fellowship, outreach, and every good work that demonstrates God's glory in the earth. We do not value the activity or accomplishments that in any way detract from the glory of God. Exodus 33:12-23; 2 Chronicles 5:11-14; I Corinthians 10:31

3) Family

We believe one of our primary callings is to love and disciple our families. One of the greatest opportunities to be a light on a hill is by the way our family units care for each other. John 13:35; Ephesians 5:21-6:4; Colossians 3:18-21

4) The Local Church

The local church is the primary means that Jesus has ordained to fulfill His purposes on the earth. We embrace the local church as a fountainhead of ministry, in its place of nurturing, equipping and mobilizing, as well as in the impacting of the culture in which she has been planted. We also believe that trans-local ministries can be birthed out of the local church and provide immense value to the advancement of the Kingdom. Ephesians 4:7-16; Acts 13:1-3; Acts 14:26-28

5) A Theology of Grace

We believe that salvation is a gift from God and that man does not initiate it nor aid it - it is simply a work of God's grace. Since a believer comes into the Kingdom by grace, we believe that our continued fellowship with God, and with others, is an extension of that same grace. It is this overwhelming confidence in the grace of God that causes us to believe for the restoration of broken lives, to minister in humility and the fear of the Lord, to honor each person God has created, and to commit our lives to the fulfilling of the Great Commission. Ephesians 2:8-10; Romans 5:1-2; Luke 4:18-19

6) Unity in the Midst of Diversity

It is evident to us that God is the author of both diversity and unity. We recognize the priestly prayer of Jesus that was offered in John 17 for our unity as being essential for Christians to embrace. Fellowship within the Body of Christ has too often been built around issues of denominations, race, gender, culture, economics, doctrine or opinions. We desire to build our fellowship around the greatness of Christ's work within each individual, and a commonly held commitment to fundamental values and beliefs, while celebrating the diversity of the body within God's Kingdom. John 17; I Corinthians 12; Psalm 133

7) Servant Leadership

It is clear to us that all models of leadership should, first and foremost, come from Jesus, who declared that He did not come to be served - but to serve. We recognize the various leadership styles in the church today, but we affirm those whose foundations are rooted in the spirit of servant hood. We desire to create a culture where serving one another and our community releases great joy. Matthew 20:28; John 13:1-17; I Peter 5:1-4

8) The Primacy of Worship and Prayer

We believe that worship and prayer touch the very heart of God. It is a fundamental belief amongst our fellowship that these are the source and secret of any and all ministry success. Worship and prayer play a central part of all gatherings of The Potters House Family Worship Center, both in corporate expression and in personal ministry. John 4:23-24; Luke 5:16; James 5:16-18; Matthew 21:12-16

9) A Relational Community of Believers

We place a high regard on the biblical injunction to walk in community. We believe that all believers should be in significant relationships with other believers - relationships that provide friendship, care, accountability, growth, and provoke to good works. Acts 2:41-46; Acts 4:32-37; Hebrews 10:24-25; Romans 12:10-13; Romans 15:7

10) Commitment to Reformation, Renewal and Revival

We are grateful to God for all He has done throughout history bringing restoration, renewal, refreshing, revival and reformation to His church. Yet, we believe that this is a work that must continue in this generation and beyond. In light of this, we attempt to serve as a faithful prophetic messenger to stir and awaken the church as Christ's bride to be everything that He has called her to be, and for her to fulfill her God-given destiny in the days in which we are living. I Chronicles 12:32; Romans 13:11; 2 Samuel 6-7; 2 Chronicles 29-31; Revelation 19:7

11) The Completion of the Great Commission

The Potters House is committed to doing everything possible to reach all people everywhere, and to pursue not only an initial gospel witness, but a disciplining ministry among every tribe, language, age, people and nation where God opens a door. We delight in and actively look for ways to partner and strategic align with other ministries for the advancement of God's Kingdom in the earth. Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; I Corinthians 3:1-10
